  • The Monterrey Open is the final women’s event before next week’s U.S. Open.
  • The total WTA prize purse is more than $1 million.

With the U.S. Open just days away and qualifiers playing this week, the focus for both the men’s and women’s tours is on next week’s major tournament.

That’s especially true for tennis bettors, who are ready to lock in on the U.S. Open tennis odds market that will explode in the coming days.

Still, the WTA is not idle this week. Late-summer tennis focuses on North America, which is why the WTA has played recent stints in Washington, D.C., Montreal, and Cincinnati.

This week, the WTA is playing its final pre-slam tune-up in Monterrey, Mexico. Abierto GNP Seguros – also known colloquially as the Monterrey Open – features a decent WTA purse after the event was upgraded to a 500-point tournament in 2024.

As such, the total available prize money is now $1,064,510.
