- Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers begins as the betting favorite to win WNBA Rookie of the Year.
- Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark won WNBA's ROY award in 2024.
For the second consecutive year, the No. 1 pick in the draft entered the WNBA season with minus odds to win Rookie of the Year. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers opened as a -275 favorite to win the ROY award in 2025.
Bueckers appears to be following the game plan of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who started with -750 odds and led wire-to-wire in last season’s Rookie of the Year race. Clark claimed 66 of the 67 votes to win ROY in 2024 after being the top pick in her draft.

Who Will Win WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2025?
Bueckers is the betting favorite to win WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2025. Her -5000 price tag gives her an implied probability of 98.04%.
It’s no surprise that Bueckers has established herself as the front-runner. Since 2008, 12 of the last 17 ROY winners were selected as the No. 1 overall pick in their respective drafts, including the previous three recipients:
- 2024: Caitlin Clark (Fever)
- 2023: Aliyah Boston (Fever)
- 2022: Rhyne Howard (Dream)
Bueckers has benefited from having a high-usage role from the start. She’s averaging 18.9 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game this season. Bueckers was named an All-Star starter.
Washington Mystics newbies Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron have been the biggest threats to Bueckers in the WNBA ROY race. They both earned All-Star selections as rookies.
Seattle Storm’s Dominique Malonga, a 6-foot-6 center who was drafted No. 2 overall and can dunk, has made the most of her minutes of late. Janelle Salaün has also impressed in her debut season with the Golden State Valkyries.
Still, this is Bueckers’ award to lose in 2025.
Prediction: Paige Bueckers
