Aces vs. Storm Prediction: Game 2 on Sept. 16

My Aces vs. Storm prediction involves taking the points with Seattle based on the lack of movement in the latest WNBA betting lines.

Look, this one is hard to get behind after I lost on the same wager on Sunday. The Storm appear to be a team poised to overhaul their core in the offseason, while the Aces may be on the verge of returning to the WNBA Finals in a couple of weeks.

However, this is the reason why the best-of-three series format was changed this year to have the lower seed host Game 2. It gives the underdog a better chance of forcing a third game after all four Round 1 matchups in a sweep last year.

I’m unsure if the Storm can force an elimination game, but I prefer taking the points when the spread remains the same as it was on Sunday. This line closed at +6 after I took a -105 value on +6.5, so it’s interesting that the Storm are 6.5-point home underdogs two days later.

The Aces shot extremely well in Game 1, knocking down 48% of their attempts from long range. It led to their biggest win over the Storm in five head-to-head matchups this year. Las Vegas’ previous two wins came by a combined nine points.

With their backs against the wall, the Storm should put up more of a fight at home on Tuesday.

Aces vs. Storm Prediction: Storm +6.5 (pick made on Monday)
