This marks the fifth edition of the Commissioner’s Cup, with the previous two matchups serving as WNBA Finals previews. The Lynx defeated the New York Liberty last year, while New York bested the Las Vegas Aces in 2023.

Minnesota is favored to win the cup for the second straight season, earning a prize pool of $500,000.

Based on the updated WNBA betting lines, I’m backing the over for Aliyah Boston’s scoring prop (15.5) as my Fever vs. Lynx prediction for Tuesday’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final.

The Fever don’t have much of a chance to knock off the Lynx if Boston can’t compete with Napheesa Collier, who is the clear WNBA MVP odds favorite. Boston has to compete with the elite posts for Indiana to be a genuine title threat.

Fortunately for the Fever, Boston has taken her game to another level in her third season. She’s averaging 15.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.

Boston has cleared this scoring prop four times in the last five games, a stretch where she’s played at least 30 minutes every contest. I expect her to be on the floor for much of Tuesday’s matchup, giving her a better chance of scoring 16-plus points.
