After facing off in the 2024 WNBA Finals, the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx are off to undefeated starts to begin the 2025 season.
Their unblemished records help them stand alone atop the league standings, but it also puts them in historic company. At 9-0, both the Liberty and Lynx are tied for the fourth-best starts in WNBA history. Of the previous seven teams to start 9-0 or better, six of them reached the WNBA Finals.
New York and Minnesota continue to close in on the longest undefeated streak to start a campaign, a record the Lynx accomplished in 2016 when they began the year 13-0.
