  • Dustin Poirier was a former interim UFC Lightweight Champion who won the belt against Max Holloway in April 2019.
  • Poirier is coming off a unanimous decision defeat from Max Holloway at UFC 318.
  • Poirier officially retired after his trilogy fight with Holloway.

Dustin Poirier’s retirement fight resulted in a unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway in their trilogy match at UFC 318, held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on July 19. Poirier also came up short of securing the BMF title that was on the line during the main event bout.

“The Diamond” was the betting underdog for that match with Holloway, with -110 UFC odds, and he failed to defy it. When will we ever see the former UFC interim lightweight champion back inside the octagon?

When Is Dustin Poirier’s Next Fight?

There is no next fight for Poirier, as his third meeting with Holloway was his retirement fight as a professional athlete. He had an illustrious career, spanning 14 years with the UFC, and left his mark on combat sports.
