Belal Muhammad shocked the world by beating Leon Edwards in their UFC welterweight title fight in the main event of UFC 305 in July. He defied the UFC odds and scored a massive upset through a unanimous decision win inside the Co-op Live in Manchester, England.

But he failed to defend his title against Jack Della Maddalena on May 10 at UFC 315, which ended his reign as the division’s undisputed king. Most recently, he suffered another loss to Ian Machado Garry in the co-main event of UFC Qatar on Nov. 22.

But despite these setbacks, he remains one of the top names in the weight class. When will Muhammad return to action, and who will he face next inside the octagon? Find out below.

Muhammad initially trained with head coach Mike Valle at Valle Flow Striking (also known as VFS) Academy in Bensenville, Illinois. But since 2022, he has been training with Eagles MMA and American Kickboxing Academy under the tutelage of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and reigning king Islam Makhachev.
