The lightweight showdown between ranked contenders Arman Tsarukyan and Dan Hooker will headline the UFC Qatar card on Nov. 22, which takes place inside ABHA Arena in Doha, Qatar.

With his four-fight win streak and a better pro record, Tsarukyan heads into the match as the considerable betting favorite with -500 UFC odds, while Hooker is going to be the overwhelming underdog with +375 odds.

UFC Qatar: Tsarukyan vs. Hooker: Prediction

I predict a unanimous decision win for Tsarukyan over Hooker because he’ll use his better grappling skills to neutralize the striking of the Kiwi contender. Tsarukyan will likely take him down multiple times during the fight and rain down ground-and-pound strikes.

Even though Tsarukyan will have the height, reach, and leg reach disadvantages against Hooker, he has previously proved through his recent wins that it won’t be an issue for him as long as he gets a hold of his opponents.

Meanwhile, Hooker has been outgrappled by opponents with superior grappling, as evidenced by his fight with Makhachev, which ended in a submission loss. He has improved a lot in this area, which is why I am not predicting another submission result.

Tsarukyan will surely go for multiple takedowns because he knows he has the massive advantage in that category. At the same time, he won’t risk a stand-up fight with Hooker because he’s still a dangerous striker with power in his punches.

Arman Tsarukyan’s Recent Fight Results

Tsarukyan joined the UFC in 2019 as a top prospect with a pro record of 13 wins and one loss. He made his octagon debut against Islam Makhachev and absorbed a unanimous decision setback.

Following that defeat to Makhachev, Tsarukyan went on to win nine of his next 10 bouts. Several of his most notable wins during this stretch were against Matt Frevola, Davi Ramos, Beneil Dariush, and Charles Oliveira. His other UFC loss was courtesy of Mateusz Gamrot.

Dan Hooker’s Recent Fight Results

Hooker is an MMA standout from New Zealand and won his UFC debut against Ian Entwistle in June 2014 via first-round stoppage. Since then, he recorded 13 wins and eight losses under the promotion.

Some of his most notable wins in the UFC were against Jim Miller, Gilbert Burns, Paul Felder, Jalin Turner, and Gamrot. On the other hand, his losses were from Maximo Blanco, Yair Rodriguez, Jason Knight, Edson Barboza, Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, Makhachev, and Arnold Allen.
