Ian Machado Garry vs. Carlos Prates: Prediction
Machado Garry’s well-rounded skills and experience fighting several of the division’s top names can overshadow Prates’ power and striking prowess. I see this match going to Machado Garry’s favor in a potential unanimous decision victory.
The Irish star’s grappling game is superior to the Brazilian contender’s because he has a strong Muay Thai base. Machado Garry could use this grappling supremacy to neutralize Prates’ power and forward-pressure approach.
Once he secures a takedown against Prates, Machado can work his way into a submission maneuver or pounce with a vicious ground and pound to get the finish victory and return to the win column.
On the other side of the fence, Prates would bring his one-shot knockout power against Machado Garry, as he has shown in his previous fights, where he scored highlight-reel finishes to put him on the map in the weight class.
The Brazilian knockout menace maximizes this power with his heavy Muay Thai skills, using his punches and kicks to inflict serious damage against his opponents. When Prates lands a major strike against his opponent, he immediately jumps at them and overwhelms them with more combinations until they can’t handle it anymore.
