Merab Dvalishvili was crowned as the new UFC bantamweight champion after he unanimously beat Sean O’Malley in the main event of UFC 306, aka Noche UFC inside the Sphere in Las Vegas on Sept. 14. Dvalishvili was the betting underdog at BetMGM’s online sportsbook heading into the match, but it didn’t deter him and instead went in to deliver a masterful performance.

Dvalishvili dominated O’Malley through his superior grappling skills by taking him down the mat several times and raining down ground-and-pound strikes throughout the entire showdown. Despite the defeat, O’Malley still secured the biggest payout from all the fighters in the card, which was $3.2 million.
Meanwhile, four fighters received an additional $50,000 bonus, with Ignacio Bahamondes and Ketlen Souza, for the Performance of the Night honors. The lightweight bout between Daniel Zellhuber and Esteban Ribovics was hailed as the Fight of the Night.
