Wolves vs Brighton Prediction & Odds

  • Wolves is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Brighton.
  • Wolves has lost each of its last seven EPL day matches as a home underdog.
  • My Wolves vs. Brighton prediction is to live bet the over/under.

Looking to end a three-match winless run away from home, Brighton travel to Molineux to face Wolves.

Manager Vitor Pereira’s side finally dropped points in a 1-0 loss at Manchester City last Friday. The loss ended a seven-match unbeaten run in the league (W6-D1) for Wolves.

Brighton earned a 1-0 advantage over Newcastle last Sunday, but settled for a point in a 1-1 draw. Currently, the Seagulls sit 10th in the league table.

Brighton vs Wolves: Prediction

Based on the distribution of both teams’ attacking metrics, my Wolves vs Brighton prediction is to live bet the over

I’m inclined to believe goals will come in this fixture. However, the underlying attacking metrics suggest those tallies are more likely to arrive in the second half.

Per understat.com, Wolves accumulated 49.6% of their expected goals after halftime. For Brighton, they’ve amassed 35.53 second half xG, which accounts for 58% of their total.

From a matchup standpoint, Saturday’s fixture rates out a strong sell-high spot on the Wolves defense.

Pereira’s side has kept six of their previous seven opponents under 1.5 goals. However, they’ve faced only two attacks 10th or better in expected goals over that span.

Earlier this season against Brighton, Wolves surrendered 1.3 expected goals and 1.5 post-shot expected goals.

These sides also met in a League Cup tie earlier this season, a 3-2 win for Brighton.

For Brighton, I question how their defense holds up away from home.

Dating back to December, Fabian Huerzler’s side has managed only two road clean sheets. Those successes came against Ipswich Town and Southampton.

Wolves has found the net in all but two home matches this season. Those failures came against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, both of which are fifth or better in expected goals against.

As a result, Both Teams to Score (-175) could rate out a good parlay piece on Saturday. That prop has cashed in 10 Wolves home matches and 12 Brighton road matches.

At the same time, I would look to back a live over around the 30 minute mark or get involved at halftime if the first half features one or fewer goals.
