West Ham vs Tottenham Prediction, Odds & Match Preview

See the latest EPL odds, picks, and predictions for West Ham vs Tottenham ahead of their matchup on September 13.
  • West Ham is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Tottenham.
  • 'First Half Over 0.5' has hit in 24 of Tottenham's last 25 EPL matches as a favorite.
  • My West Ham vs Tottenham prediction is Tottenham Team Total Over 1.5 (-105).

After a convincing win over Nottingham Forest, West Ham returns home to face Tottenham.

Graham Potter’s side captured a 3-0 road win over the Tricky Trees. The win earned the Hammers its first points of the 2025 season after losses to Chelsea and Sunderland.

Tottenham suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Matchday 3. The loss ended a two-match winning streak to start the year for Thomas Frank’s side.

Tottenham vs West Ham: Prediction

Based on West Ham’s weak defensive record as a home underdog and Tottenham’s previous offensive success, my West Ham vs Tottenham prediction is Tottenham Over 1.5 Goals (-105).

If there’s a theme to this analysis, it’s to not overreact to one match.

Tottenham’s attack delivered a complete dud against Bournemouth. Frank’s attack generated only 0.2 expected goals and post-shot xG, per fbref.com.

That came after 3.4 xG and 4.7 post-shot xG against Burnley and Man City.

Meanwhile, if bettors only watched West Ham’s Matchday 3 performance, one would leave impressed by the defense.

The Hammers conceded 0.7 xG and 0.3 post-shot xG. That came after 3.4 xG and 6.7 psxG to Sunderland and Chelsea.

That creates a strong buy-low, sell-high spot following the international break.

West Ham has conceded at least once in 15 straight as a home dog and 24 of the last 26. Over the latter sample, teams have cleared 1.5 goals 17 times in 26 matches.

That figure is good for a 65.4% hit rate. Yet, the implied probability on these odds comes in at 51.2%.

While Tottenham failed to clear this number in its last trip to West Ham, the match came on short rest.

The meeting last year at Tottenham provides a better picture of West Ham’s defensive viability.

Tottenham shipped four goals in that fixture off 1.92 expected goals.

Additionally, bettors should consider how Frank exploited Graham Potter’s West Ham defense with Brentford last year.

Although the Bees scored only once, the visitors created 1.6 xG and 1.7 post-shot xG at West Ham.

Based on those factors, I like the price on Tottenham to rediscover its offensive form.
