West Ham vs Nottm Forest Prediction & Odds

  • West Ham is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Nottm Forest.
  • Each of West Ham's last three EPL home matches have resulted in a draw.
  • My West Ham vs. Nottm Forest prediction is West Ham’s spread.

After a disappointing home draw against Leicester, Nottingham Forest travel to London for a meeting with West Ham.

Forest’s 2-2 result against relegated Leicester City stained their Champions League hopes. Currently, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side sits seventh in the league, one point behind fifth.

West Ham earned a 2-0 road win over Manchester United on Sunday. That win ended an eight-match winless run for the Hammers, which jumped to 15th in the table.

Nottingham Forest vs West Ham: Prediction

Based on Nottingham Forest’s weak defensive output against Leicester City, my West Ham vs Nottm Forest prediction is West Ham Draw, No Bet (-102)

Placing faith in a bad West Ham team at this number is slightly worrisome. However, they’re getting a Forest team badly missing a key central defender.

Murillo is likely out for Sunday’s match. Without him against Leicester, Forest surrendered 1.9 post-shot xG, per fbref.com.

That output marks Forest’s worst output against a bottom-five attack by post-shot expected goals. In the previous nine, Forest surrendered 0.79 post-shot xG per 90.

Now they’re getting a West Ham side off a strong victory. The Hammers generated three post-shot xG at Manchester United, who did deploy a backup defense.

Whether that momentum continues into Matchday 37 is unknown. However, West Ham gets a Forest side that has massively overperformed on the road.

To date, the Tricky Trees own a +1 road goal differential compared to a -7.3 expected goal differential, per fbref.com.

Most of that regression is expected offensively. Away from home, Forest has scored 30 goals off 20.7 expected.

What’s slightly concerning about taking West Ham: Forest is unbeaten away from home against teams currently in the bottom half.

Sunday’s trip marks Forest’s ninth trip to a team currently 11th or worse. In the previous eight, Forest finished 7-1-0 (W-D-L).

But it’s also a strong revenge spot for the Hammers, which fell 3-0 at Forest in the reverse fixture.

While the scoreline may prove slightly worrisome, West Ham played the entire second half down a man and conceded two goals in that half.

As a result, it’s West Ham or nothing for me on Sunday.
