Leeds United vs Tottenham Prediction, Odds & Match Preview

See the latest EPL odds, picks, and predictions for Leeds United vs Tottenham ahead of their matchup on October 4.
  • Leeds United is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Tottenham.
  • 'First Half Over 0.5 Goals' has hit in 21 of Tottenham's last 22 EPL day matches.
  • My Leeds United vs Tottenham prediction is the Total Over 2.5 Goals (-120).

Tottenham aims to get back to its winning ways as a road favorite against Leeds United.

Thomas Frank’s side rescued a late point on Matchday 6 against Wolves. The equalizer gave Tottenham a fifth result in its first six matches to open the season.

Leeds United delivered a decent performance against Bournemouth at home. Daniel Farke’s side took a 2-1 lead in the second half, but conceded a late goal to draw 2-2.

Tottenham vs Leeds United: Prediction

Based on Leeds United’s strong offensive record and the historical success of overs featuring a home dog, my Leeds United vs Tottenham prediction is Over 2.5 Goals (-120).

Leeds delivered a really impressive attacking performance on Matchday 6. Farke’s attack generated 1.84 expected goals and 2.06 post-shot xG against Bournemouth.

That marks the second match in a row Leeds cleared 1.5 post-shot xG, per fotmob.com.

For Tottenham’s defense, this match represents a tricky spot. Frank takes his side to Norway on Tuesday for a Champions League match before facing Leeds on the road Saturday.

At minimum, bettors should expect a goal contribution from Leeds against a Tottenham side on short rest.

Simultaneously, I worry about Leeds’ defensive viability in this match.

Tottenham has created 10 post-shot xG through six matches. Only Chelsea and Brighton have created a higher figure than Frank’s Tottenham.

Leeds possesses limited experience against good attacks. Through six matches, it has played only two against teams that finished last season 10th or better in post-shot xG.

Those matches? At Arsenal and on Matchday 6 against Bournemouth. Across both those matches, Leeds surrendered 2.05 post-shot xG per 90, per fbref.com.

Plus, overs have performed well of late in EPL matches featuring a home underdog.

Since 2023, matches featuring a 2.5-goal total with a home dog allowing at least 1.7 goals per game are 63-33 (66%) to the over.

Just this season, those matches are 7-2 to the over.

As a result, I like the price on another high-scoring fixture at Elland Road.
