- Leeds United is predicted to be a slight home favorite against Everton.
- The 'Both Teams to Score' market has hit in each of Leeds' last 13 EPL matches.
- My Leeds United vs Everton prediction is Everton Draw, No Bet (-105).
Championship winners Leeds United begin its latest top-flight campaign by hosting Everton.Â
Leeds narrowly captured the second-tier title last year. Daniel Farke’s side finished level on points with Burnley, but a superior goal differential earned it the title.Â
As for Everton, the Toffees suffered another bottom-half finish in the EPL. After replacing Sean Dyche with David Moyes, Everton finished 8-7-4 (W-D-L).Â

Everton vs Leeds United: Prediction
Based on Leeds’ results against the best Championship sides and Everton’s record under Moyes, my Leeds United vs Everton prediction is Everton Draw, No Bet (-105).Â
The line paints a disrespectful picture of Everton, in my opinion.Â
As referenced earlier, Everton dropped all three points only four times under Moyes. Those losses? Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.Â
Leeds certainly rank behind those clubs in overall quality. Accordingly, it surprises me a bit the newcomers are priced as a home favorite.Â
From a metrics standpoint, Everton’s performances under Moyes are supported by data.Â
In those 19 matches, Everton finished with a +0.22 expected goal differential per 90 minutes. For the entire season, it finished on -0.12 (inclusive of those 19 games).Â
While Leeds dominated the Championship last year, it struggled against second-place Burnley. That qualifies as Leeds’ hardest matches of last campaign.Â
Leeds finished 0-1-1 (W-D-L) in two head-to-head meetings with the Clarets. Both matches saw Leeds finish with 1.2 or fewer xG. That happened only 12 times in 46 league matches last year.Â
Everton’s defense marks a significant step up compared to Burnley.Â
For the entire year, the Toffees ranked fourth in expected goals against and sixth in post-shot xGA, per fbref.com.Â
Plus, Everton deservedly dropped all three points last year (xGDiff > -0.5) only twice last year when allowing one or fewer goals in a 27-match sample.Â
Assuming the game stays as low-scoring as expected – Under 2.5 Goals is -145 – it creates a strong chance for Everton to capture points.Â
