Fulham vs Chelsea Prediction & Odds

  • Fulham is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Chelsea.
  • Fulham has won seven of its last eight matches as a dog following a league loss.
  • My Fulham vs. Chelsea prediction is Fulham Draw, No Bet.

A London Derby features on Sunday at Craven Cottage with Fulham hosting Chelsea.

Both teams suffered poor results over the weekend. Chelsea dropped points in a 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town, dropping them to sixth in the league table.

Fulham fell 1-0 as road underdogs to Bournemouth on Monday. That leaves Marco Silva’s side 4-4 SU in their last eight as they hunt down a European spot.

Fulham vs Chelsea: Premier League Odds

  • Fulham Moneyline: +180
  • Chelsea Moneyline: +145
  • Draw Moneyline: +240

  • Both Teams to Score: “Yes” (-150), “No” (+105)

Chelsea vs Fulham: Prediction

Based on Fulham’s strong record off a defeat this season and Chelsea’s road luck, my Fulham vs Chelsea prediction is Fulham Draw, No Bet (-105)

This line came crashing down in Fulham’s favor when the lookahead lines opened. From market open, Fulham have moved 72 cents on the three-way moneyline.

Generally, that big a move usually proves profitable for bettors.

Since 2012, dogs against a previous favorite are 46-56 SU and 67-35 vs. +0.5, assuming three factors:

  • The team’s previous game margin falls between -1 and +3
  • The closing moneyline falls between +177 and +337
  • The moneyline change from open to close falls between -72 and -35

Disclosure: that system also applies to Everton vs Man City in favor of the Toffees

Just this season, those underdogs are 5-2 SU with five straight victories.

Even if you set those trends aside, Fulham have proven brilliant as home dogs this year.

Marco Silva’s side is 3-0 SU in such spots with seven wins in their last eight as dogs off a league loss. Plus, Fulham haven’t dropped consecutive league matches since October.

From a metrics standpoint, Fulham avoided defeat in all but four at Craven Cottage.

They also get a Chelsea side that has run lucky away from home. Entering Sunday’s fixture, Chelsea recorded a +4 road goal differential vs. a +2.6 expected goal differential.

The Blues have simultaneously struggled against the league’s best home defenses. This will be their ninth road game against a team that has allowed 20 or fewer xGA at home.

Chelsea’s record in the previous eight: 1-2-5 (W-D-L).

As a result, I like Fulham to avoid defeat on Sunday as home underdogs.
