Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction, Odds & Match Preview

See the latest EPL odds, picks, and predictions for Crystal Palace vs Liverpool ahead of their matchup on September 27.
  • Crystal Palace is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Liverpool.
  • Liverpool has scored at least one goal in each of its last 39 EPL matches.
  • My Crystal Palace vs Liverpool prediction is the Liverpool Moneyline (-118).

Liverpool goes for a sixth straight win to open its title defense as road favorites against Crystal Palace.

Both teams captured all three points as favorites on Matchday 5. Palace picked up a 2-1 road win over West Ham United, extending its league unbeaten run to 11 matches.

Liverpool also earned a 2-1 win over rivals Everton to extend its positive start to the season. However, only one of Liverpool’s five wins this year has come by multiple goals.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace: Prediction

Based on the market’s perception of Liverpool and Crystal Palace’s easy start to the season, my Crystal Palace vs Liverpool prediction is the Liverpool Moneyline (-118).

Upon first glance, the line looks so insulting to Liverpool. However, it makes more sense when you consider the team’s road performances this season.

Arne Slot’s side needed stoppage-time winners against both Newcastle and Burnley for road victories earlier this season.

Most recently against Burnley, Liverpool proved lucky to claim all three points as a -300 road favorite.

A stoppage-time penalty proved the difference for Liverpool. For the entire match, Liverpool placed only two shots on target.

Palace earned a draw earlier this year in the Community Shield final. However, that lineup featured both Ismaila Sarr and Eberechi Eze.

Without the duo, Palace deploys a much weaker attack.

Saturday’s clash also offers a potential sell-high spot on Crystal Palace.

A Matchday 1 result at Chelsea offers the only encouraging sign for Oliver Glasner’s side. However, the fixture list has proved very easy of late.

In its last four matches, Palace played Nottingham Forest, Sunderland, West Ham and Aston Villa. None of those sides come close to sniffing Liverpool’s quality.

Plus, Palace has yet to trail in any league match this season. Without two key attackers – Sarr could miss Saturday’s match – I wonder if the Eagles are built to overcome a deficit.

For all of its issues, Liverpool has scored first in every match this season. Pair that trend with their attacking depth, and I predict the Reds earn all three points against Palace.
