Brighton vs West Ham Prediction & Odds

  • Brighton is predicted to be a -0.5-goal home favorite against West Ham.
  • Each of West Ham's last three EPL Saturday matches have resulted in a draw.
  • My Brighton vs. West Ham prediction is for both teams to score.

Two teams off disappointing results will meet on Saturday at the Amex Stadium with Brighton hosting West Ham.

The Seagulls moved from an underdog to a road favorite at Brighton. However, a lackluster defensive performance resigned Brighton to a 4-2 road loss.

West Ham also took money last week against Southampton and took a 1-0 lead inside an hour. However, a late Southampton equalizer resigned the Hammers to only a point.

West Ham vs Brighton: Prediction

Based on Brighton’s injury crisis in defense and the overall BTTS success of both teams, my Brighton vs West Ham prediction is Both Teams to Score – “Yes” (-135)

This price strikes me as a little cheap for two teams that have proven BTTS machines this year.

Brighton lead the Premier League with a 70% BTTS hit rate through 33 matches. West Ham, meanwhile, own a 61% BTTS hit rate for the year.

Personally, I’m fairly certain West Ham will find the net in this match. Only twice this year have the Hammers failed to score away from home, including once in six under Graham Potter.

For Brighton, they face a boatload of defensive injuries. Seven recognized defenders are out for Fabian Huerzler, whose Brighton hasn’t kept a league clean sheet since February.

Earlier this season against West Ham, Brighton deployed a full-strength defense and still surrendered 1.4 post-shot xG.

At the same time, Brighton failed to score in only five of 33 league matches this season. When these sides played earlier in the year, Brighton managed 2.2 post-shot xG.

While the looming absence of Joao Pedro offers slight concern, Brighton’s attacking form is strong enough that I’m not overly worried.

Since February 14, Brighton has scored at least twice in all but two matches. Only once over that span has Brighton failed to score.

Lastly, in West Ham’s 18 matches against teams 10th or better in post-shot xG – Brighton rank seventh – they’ve managed only two clean sheets.

As a result, I like the price on both teams to score Saturday at the Amex.
