  • Brighton is predicted to be a -0.5-goal home favorite against Fulham.
  • Fulham has scored at least one goal in six straight EPL matches against Brighton.
  • My Brighton vs Fulham prediction is Fulham to score in the second half (-110).

After an eighth-place campaign in 2024, Brighton begin 2025 with a home fixture against Fulham.

The Seagulls earned a 2-1 win when these sides last met. It ended a nine-match winless run for Brighton against Fulham, which finished 11th last season.

This season, oddsmakers price Brighton at -140 to replicate its top-half finish. Meanwhile, Fulham is priced at +250 to see improvement from last year’s position.

Fulham vs Brighton: Prediction

Based on Fulham’s strong underlying metrics in the second half under Marco Silva, my Brighton vs Fulham prediction is Fulham 2H Over 0.5 (-110).

Both this price and the first half market – over 0.5 is +1300 – surprise me a touch. Last year, Brighton ranked 13th in expected goals allowed and 10th in post-shot xGA, per fbref.com.

Fulham has scored at least once in six straight against the Seagulls. Last year, Silva’s side failed to score only seven times in 38 matches.

In 38 second halves, Fulham found a tally 22 times, a 57.9% hit rate. Comparatively, the odds for this market imply a probability of 52.4%.

Regarding Fulham’s underlying metrics, performances suggest second-half tallies came at a higher frequency.

Per understat.com, Fulham generated 33.11 expected goals in the second half last year. In the first half, Fulham accumulated 26.32 xG.

That trend repeats itself over a bigger sample size.

Dating back to 2022, Fulham amassed 98.84 xG in the second half compared to 66.61 xG in the opening 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, Brighton struggled to keep teams out in the second half.

From a metrics perspective, the Seagulls surrendered 67.25 xGA in the second half over the last two years. In the first half, that figure comes in at 58.32 xGA.

Just last year, Brighton conceded a second-half goal 19 times for a 50% hit rate.

However, metrics suggest they ran lucky. Last year, Brighton conceded 31 second-half goals off 32.93 xGA in the second half, again per understat.com.
