Brentford vs Man United Prediction, Odds & Match Preview

See the latest EPL odds, picks, and predictions for Brentford vs Man United ahead of their matchup on September 27.
  • Brentford is predicted to be a +0.5-goal home underdog against Man United.
  • Brentford has scored at least one goal in each of its last 12 EPL matches.
  • My Brentford vs Man United prediction is Brentford 1H Over 0.5 (+105).

After an unlucky loss against Fulham, Brentford returns home to face Manchester United.

The Bees gained a 1-0 advantage early in the first half. However, Keith Andrews’ side conceded three unanswered goals to fall to 0-3 ATS away from home.

Manchester United captured a 2-1 win over Chelsea as home underdogs on Matchday 5. The match turned in United’s favor with an early Chelsea red card as United held on for a win late.

Man United vs Brentford: Prediction

Based on Brentford’s strong attacking metrics in the first half as a home underdog, my Brentford vs Man United prediction is Brentford 1H Over 0.5 (+105).

Brentford’s attack has proven resilient early as home dogs. Albeit in a two-match sample, the Bees managed a first-half tally against both Aston Villa and Chelsea.

It’s also not as if those goals count as fluky outcomes.

Brentford created 0.74 post-shot expected goals in the first half against Chelsea after generating 1.36 post-shot xG vs. Villa, per fotmob.com.

Although key pieces have departed Brentford’s attack, the team has consistently started well against Manchester United.

Brentford cleared 0.5 expected goals in four straight first halves against the Red Devils. Over the last eight meetings between these clubs, Brentford has scored a first-half goal four times.

Just last season, Brentford found a first-half goal in both meetings with United. Against Ruben Amorim’s United on May 4, Brentford generated 1.04 xG and 0.94 post-shot xG in the first half.

If a slight concern exists, it’s that United’s defense has played better in the first half.

Only Arsenal and Manchester City have scored a first-half goal against United this season. However, the successes came against 10-man Chelsea, Fulham and Burnley squads.

I rate Brentford’s attack ahead of both Fulham and Burnley. Plus, the first-half success as home underdogs quells some of the concern about United’s defense.

As a result, I predict another fast start for the Brentford attack against a shaky defense.
