See the latest EPL odds, picks, and predictions for Bournemouth vs Fulham ahead of their matchup on October 3.
  • Bournemouth is predicted to be a -0.5-goal home favorite against Fulham.
  • Fulham has conceded at least once in 19 straight matches as an underdog.
  • My Bournemouth vs Fulham prediction is the Bournemouth Moneyline (-110).

Bournemouth aims to extend its unbeaten run on Friday as home favorites to Fulham.

Andoni Iraola’s side earned points in five straight league matches (W2-D3). Most recently, the Cherries used a late goal to draw 2-2 against Leeds United.

Fulham started well on Matchday 6 at Aston Villa. Marco Silva’s side led 1-0 very quickly, but surrendered three unanswered goals to drop all three points.

Fulham vs Bournemouth: Prediction

Based on Fulham’s poor record last year against Bournemouth and Bournemouth’s attacking strength, my Bournemouth vs Fulham prediction is the Bournemouth Moneyline (-110).

Bournemouth took four points out of a possible six against Fulham last year. In the most recent fixture at the Vitality Stadium, the hosts captured a 1-0 win.

Metrics for that match also favored Bournemouth. The Cherries won 1.54-0.91 on post-shot expected goals and 2-1 on big scoring chances, per fotmob.com.

A 2-2 draw at Fulham also saw edges for Bournemouth. While post-shot xG finished even, expected goals (1.98-1.11) and big chances (3-1) gave the edge to Bournemouth.

Based on the team’s Matchday 6 performance, I arrive at this fixture questioning the Fulham defense.

The team traveled to Aston Villa, who entered the match last in post-shot xG (1.6). The Fulham defense subsequently allowed 1.7 post-shot xG.

Bournemouth represents a stiffer test for the Fulham defense. Even by last year’s attacking metrics, Bournemouth finished six spots ahead of Villa in expected goals.

Plus, Bournemouth has played much better at home under Iraola. Dating back to last season, Friday’s hosts are 10-5-7 (W-D-L) at home with a +11 xGDiff, or +0.5 per 90, per fbref.com.

History also suggests this is a strong spot to back Bournemouth as short home favorites.

Since 2012, consensus favorites between -130 and -111 in matches 2-14 are 24-3 SU, assuming three factors:

  • The favorite closed as a market favorite in its last match
  • The underdog closed as a market underdog in its last match
  • The favorite’s previous head-to-head margin in the last meeting is +0 or +1

Given those factors, I like the hosts to extend their unbeaten run and capture all three points.
