The marquee EPL fixture for Matchday 5 pits Arsenal against Man City in London.

Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest out of the break. It marks three wins in four for Mikel Arteta’s side to begin a season with title ambitions.

Man City also cruised to a 3-0 win over local rivals Manchester United. The win moves City to six points through four games, six points off the league lead.

Man City vs Arsenal: Prediction

If Martin Odegaard starts for Arsenal on Sunday at home, my Arsenal vs Man City prediction is the Arsenal Moneyline (-110).

Figuring this game out presents a bit of a challenge.

Arsenal cruised in the last meeting against City. As short home favorites, the Gooners captured a 5-1 win without Bukayo Saka, who likely won’t appear on Sunday.

Critically, Man City played without a number of key pieces. Ballon D’Or winner Rodri missed the match along with central defender Ruben Dias.

Both should feature for Sunday’s match. However, City will have to overcome a rest disadvantage to earn a result on the road.

Arsenal plays in Spain on Tuesday in the Champions League. Meanwhile, City plays at home against Napoli on Thursday.

The short turnaround might hand an early advantage to the Arsenal attack. If Arteta’s side gains an early advantage, it creates a game script that favors Arsenal.

Last season, Arsenal rated out as one of the best Premier League sides playing with a lead.

Per understat.com, Arsenal finished with a +0.65 xGDiff per 90 with a one-goal lead. When playing with a multi-goal advantage, it rises to a +1.14 xGDiff per 90.

Even if City takes the lead, Pep Guardiola’s side recently proved vulnerable with an advantage. After capturing a 1-0 lead against Brighton, City conceded two second-half goals to lose 2-1.

Add in all the injury concerns for City – 11 senior players could miss Sunday’s match – and it’s a look at the hosts for Sunday’s fixture.
