  • Arsenal is predicted to be a -1.5-goal home favorite against Leeds United.
  • Arsenal has won 22 of its last 23 EPL matches against promoted teams.
  • My Arsenal vs Leeds United prediction is a SPG: Arsenal ML x Under 4.5 Goals (-135).

Arsenal opens up its home fixture list on Saturday with a match against Leeds United.

Mikel Arteta’s side picked up a 1-0 road win over Manchester United on Sunday. It leaves Arsenal tied on points atop the league table.

Leeds used a late penalty to earn all three points over Everton on Monday. The win lifted Daniel Farke’s side level on points at the top, but behind league leaders Man City on goal difference.

Leeds United vs Arsenal: Prediction

Based on Arsenal’s success against promoted teams and its defensive strength, my Arsenal vs Leeds United prediction is a SGP: Arsenal Moneyline & Under 4.5 Goals (-135).

Historically, Arsenal has bossed the promoted teams. They’ve won 13 in a row against such teams at home and 22 of the last 23, irrespective of match venue.

While I remain high on Leeds for the entirety of 2025, I question how Daniel Farke’s side breaks down an Arsenal defense that limited bad teams last year.

In six games against promoted sides last year, Arsenal surrendered only 2.1 expected goals, per fbref.com.

Oddly, Arsenal ran unlucky against that figure in conceding four goals. Even by post-shot xG, Arsenal surrendered four goals off 1.7 post-shot xG.

From a moneyline standpoint, Arsenal dominated the underlying metrics.

The Gooners posted a +2 expected goal differential per 90 across all six matches.

Essentially, that leaves under 4.5 goals as the crux of this same game parlay.

Only four Arsenal matches last season cleared 4.5 goals. Interestingly, only one such occurrence came against one of the newly promoted sides.

At least last season, Arsenal generally saw lower-event matches when it amassed a high possession percentage.

Arsenal saw 65% or more possession in 11 matches last season. Only one cleared 4.5 goals.

From an underlying metrics standpoint, those matches combined to average 2.51 expected goals per 90 minutes.

By post-shot xG per 90 minutes: only 2.4.

Given those factors, an offensive shootout would surprise me in this match.
