College basketball’s Feast Week is one that fans look forward to each year, as there are a number of tournaments across the country.

One of the biggest is the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.

The event, for which BetMGM was a partner, featured 22 teams and 31 games over three days (Nov. 24-26) at MGM Grand Garden Arena and the Michelob Ultra Arena.

There were 14 men’s teams and four women’s.

The teams were some of the best in the country, including Michigan, Gonzaga, Alabama, Houston, Kansas, Tennessee, Creighton, Baylor, St. John’s, Iowa State, Auburn, San Diego State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Rutgers, UNLV and Maryland on the men’s side and then South Carolina, Duke, Texas and UCLA on the women’s.

Ahead of the tournament, BetMGM launched a sweepstakes from October 20-November 9 where BetMGM players who opted in earned points based on winning real-money wagers of at least $10 with minimum +100 odds on any market.

The top 25 point earners won a prize package that included tournament tickets, a four-night stay at Mandalay Bay, and $1,500 in withdrawable funds for travel. The top five point earners received premium tickets.

One of the winners, Richard from Arizona, was thrilled to spend his Thanksgiving week in Vegas taking in some of the best basketball in the country in style.

“I definitely use BetMGM because of the perks,” he said.

Richard, a die-hard Steelers fan, flew in Sunday morning and took in the Steelers-Bears game at a private table at the Mandalay Bay sportsbook before checking into his room.

That night, he and his wife attended a welcome party for the winners.

The games began on Monday and lasted over 12 hours, making for a great day of nonstop action.

“The seats were perfect, a beautiful arena,” Richard said. “They were courtside on one end of the court. It was a great promotion. I really enjoyed participating in it.”

After another thrilling day of action on Tuesday, the championship game was set for Wednesday, with Michigan taking on Gonzaga.

Michigan rolled to a 101-61 win and a Players Era Festival title. The Wolverines dominated their competition, winning all three games by at least 30 points.

On the women’s side, Texas beat South Carolina in the championship, 66-64.
