  • The Genesis Scottish Open is July 10-13.
  • Scottie Scheffler is predicted to win the tournament.
  • Sam Burns and Tom Kim have some good value this week.

In advance of the Open Championship, many of the top players on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour will be teeing it up in Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open.

The Renaissance Club will be hosting the event once again, like it has every year since 2019.

Scottie Scheffler has the best odds to win this week at +450. He did not play last year, but finished T-3 in 2023.

Given it is links golf and the weather can be unpredictable, it’s hard to rely solely on metrics this week. Especially since the PGA Tour players in the field rarely play courses like this.

Weather and wind will play a significant factor in scoring, as the winning score has ranged from 7-under to 22-under in recent years.

Genesis Scottish Open Prediction

Scottie Scheffler is predicted to win the Genesis Scottish Open with an 18.18% implied probability, according to betting markets. Rory McIlroy is next at 10%.

Implied probability is the overall chance of a potential outcome in relation to the odds.

Genesis Scottish Open Best Bets

Ludvig Aberg Outright Winner (+3000)

It has been a strange year for Aberg.

The 25-year-old won a PGA Tour signature event in the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines in February, but hasn’t had a top-10 finish since the Masters. He has shown some better form of late, finishing T-16 at the Memorial and T-13 at the RBC Canadian Open.

Being from Sweden, Aberg is very familiar with links golf, which will help him this week. He finished T-4 here last year.

Despite the up-and-down year, Aberg is still one of the more consistent players on Tour, and no course doesn’t suit his game.

Sam Burns Top-10 Finish (+300)

Burns is playing exceptionally well of late, finishing inside the top 20 in five straight starts, including losing in a playoff at the RBC Canadian Open and contending on the back nine on Sunday at the U.S. Open.

Specific to this event, he didn’t play last year but finished T-19 in 2023.

While a top 10 is a bit ambitious, the price is worth considering.

Tom Kim Top-20 Finish (+275)

Kim has a strong course history at The Renaissance Club. He has gained the second-most strokes at this event over the last three years and in that timeframe has finished no worse than T-16, including a pair of top-6 finishes or better.

Yes, he has missed the cut in three of his last four events and doesn’t have a top-20 since Pebble Beach, his course history here is too good to pass up, especially at that price.
