The top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings after the regular season (Wyndham Championship) qualify for the playoffs and the first playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
There is no cut and players are not required to play.
The FedEx Cup standings following the first playoff event determine who moves on to the BMW Championship.
The first two playoff events award 2,000 points to the winner, which are quadruple the points of regular season events, so plenty is at stake.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship has a purse of $20 million.
How Many Players Qualify for BMW Championship?
The top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings following the FedEx St. Jude Championship qualify for the second playoff event, the BMW Championship.
How Many Players Make TOUR Championship?
The top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings qualify for the TOUR Championship, the final event in the 2022-23 PGA Tour season.
The winner of this event is declared the FedEx Cup champion.
TOUR Championship Format
Unlike in past years, the event will not utilize a starting stroke format. All players will start the event at even-par. The winner will receive $10 million, down from $20 million in past years.
The difference this year is that players will be paid following the regular season (top 10) and following the BMW Championship (top 30).
