  • The BMW Championship is August 14-17.
  • Scottie Scheffler (+240) has the best odds to win entering the week.
  • Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young's play off the tee will help them this week.

The PGA Tour playoffs will head into their second week with the BMW Championship from Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, MD.

The top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings have qualified, but only 49 will tee it up. Sepp Straka withdrew due to a family matter.

Caves Valley hasn’t hosted a PGA Tour event since it hosted this tournament in 2021. Patrick Cantlay won with a winning score of 27-under. Don’t expect scoring to be as low with it going from a par-72 to a par-70, as two of the par-5s have been changed to par-4s.

With that being said, there will still be plenty of birdies, and it seems to favor players with distance off the tee, or those who can hit long irons well.

Going into the event, Scottie Scheffler has the best odds to win at +240.

BMW Championship Prediction

Scottie Scheffler is predicted to win the BMW Championship with a 29.41% implied probability, according to betting markets. Rory McIlroy is next at 11.76%.

Implied probability is the overall chance of a potential outcome in relation to the odds.

BMW Championship Prop Bets

Xander Schauffele Outright Winner (+2000)

While it’s been a disappointing year for Schauffele, he’s seemed to have found something of late.

He logged top-10 finishes at the Genesis Scottish Open and the Open Championship, and although he finished T-22 last week in Memphis, he fought back after shooting a 72 on Friday with rounds of 65 and 69 over the weekend.

Schauffele also likely has the Ryder Cup on his mind, as he will be looking to get his game in the best shape possible for Bethpage Black next month.

He has the ability to get hot and make a ton of birdies, which could go a long way this week.

Rory McIlroy Top-5 Finish (+138)

McIlroy was the only player who qualified for the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week and didn’t play, but it didn’t matter as he still remains second in the FedEx Cup standings.

He’ll come into this week rested and playing a course that should suit his eye well, with distance playing a factor off the tee.

As one of the best drivers in the game, McIlroy should find himself with plenty of scoring opportunities this week.

Cameron Young Top-10 Finish (+175)

Young is one of the hottest players in the game at the moment, as following his win at the Wyndham Championship, he followed it up with a solo fifth finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Like McIlroy, Caves Valley should fit his game well, as Young’s strength is his driver.

With four top-5 finishes in his last seven starts, Young will look to keep the momentum going.
