One of the more fun events on the DP World Tour schedule, this is essentially their version of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, as players rotate from St. Andrews to Carnoustie to Kingsbarns alongside an amateur partner – often a celebrity or entertainer, but for some, possibly even a family member.

There’s a reason why Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick and Robert MacIntyre are bringing their collective hangovers from Bethpage this week. If I’m backing one of ‘em, it’s going to be the latter, as MacIntyre (+1600) didn’t quite have a breakthrough Ryder Cup performance, but has seemed on the verge of another victory for a while now.

Marco Penge (+1800) tweeted over the weekend that he would’ve loved to have been banging it around Bethpage all weekend. While he wasn’t a snub by any means, his skill set could’ve been very helpful for a team that didn’t need much help. I fully expect him to win on the PGA Tour next year, but that could start with a third win on the DP before he presumably leaves.

There’s a realistic chance that one of the LIV players in the field could take this title and while Patrick Reed (+2800), Brooks Koepka (+2800) and Tom McKibbin (+3300) seem like the best options (especially McKibbin, who’s been trending for a while now), I’ll go with a much bigger number on Louis Oosthuizen (+6600), who once won another little tourney at the Old Course.

Daniel Brown (+6000) won the BMW International Open back in July and has been on a tear ever since, posting two top-10s and four top-20s in seven starts. At this number, he’s one of my favorite plays on this board.

Elvis has entered the building. That would be Elvis Smylie (+8000), the young Australian lefthander who fell one stroke shy of Michael Kim in his most recent start at the Open de France. Been hearing about this kid’s game for years and he’s ready to win (again) at this level.

When Jacob Skov Olesen (+10000) is on, he’s really on and when he’s off, well, he’s really off. In his last six starts, he owns a third-place finish, an eighth and four MCs, but if you’re investing in the ceiling, he’s worth a bite at a triple-digit price.

And if you want a massive longshot, I’ll give you two: Richie Ramsay (+22500) and Jens Dantorp (+30000) both offer some value at very big odds.
