George Seifert was the San Francisco 49ers’ head coach for their last Super Bowl win, a victory over the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX.
It was the second Super Bowl win for Seifert, who also led the 49ers to a Lombardi Trophy five years earlier in Super Bowl XXIV. With that win over the Denver broncos in January 1990, Seifert became the second head coach in franchise history to win a championship.
Bill Walsh was head coach for the Niners’ first three Super Bowl victories.
