Tyreek Hill Contract: Salary, Extension, Guaranteed Money

Once upon a time, Tyreek Hill was an elite cog in the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive machine. But with an aging and increasingly expensive roster, the Chiefs had to make some tough choices about who they could pay.

With that in mind, the Chiefs elected to send Hill to the Miami Dolphins on March 23, 2022, as part of a sign-and-trade deal. 

Hill was immediately given a new contract extension worth more than $100 million, rightfully making him one of the highest-paid receivers in professional football. 

But in the years that followed, Miami has bled defensive talent and struggled to keep its key offensive players healthy. 

Hill is still a talented player with elite speed on the field. But with Miami falling behind in the AFC, and Hill increasingly seen as an aging distraction, it’s not clear how much longer the world-class speedster will command top dollar on the open market. 

Tyreek Hill Contract

Tyreek Hill signed a three-year restructured contract in August 2024. The deal, which runs through the 2026 season, is worth a backloaded $90 million. 

More than half of the total cap hit is accounted to 2026. 

Tyreek Hill Salary

Tyreek Hill will make $27.65 million from his NFL contract in 2025. 

That money breaks down into $10 million in base salary, plus a $15.85 million option bonus that has already been exercised this year. 

The remaining money is a $1.8 million roster bonus. Hill receives $105,882 for every Dolphins game in which he is active. 

Tyreek Hill Guaranteed Money

Tyreek Hill’s restructured contract included $54 million in guaranteed money at signing. 

Currently, none of his substantial 2026 salary is guaranteed. That will change if he’s still with the Dolphins in March 2026, when the NFL calendar flips to a new season. Nearly half of his $36 million 2026 compensation will become guaranteed on the third day of the new year.
