Steelers vs. Seahawks: NFL Week 2 Odds, Prediction

  • The Steelers are a 3-point home favorite against the Seahawks.
  • The Seahawks have won each of their last eight Sunday road games.
  • My Steelers vs Seahawks prediction is for the Seahawks (+3) to cover the spread.

After a gut-wrenching loss to the 49ers, the Seahawks head East for a meeting with the Steelers.

Seattle, despite losing the lead late, earned an opportunity to hand San Francisco a Week 1 loss. However, a Nick Bosa forced fumble and recovery rendered Seattle a loser.

Pittsburgh used a vintage Aaron Rodgers performance to pick up a two-point win over the Jets. However, the Steelers failed to cover as a 2.5-point road favorite.

Steelers vs. Seahawks Prediction

Monday, September 8

Based on the flawed perception of the Steelers’ win and Seattle’s defensive strength, my Steelers vs Seahawks prediction is the Seahawks Spread (+3, -120).

I’m going to spend all week fixated on this game.

Make no mistake about it: the Steelers finished as the inferior team on Sunday at MetLife.

A glaring special teams edge proved the difference for Pittsburgh. They scored a touchdown following a fumble recovery from a kickoff and saw Chris Boswell nail a 60-yard field goal.

Only Philadelphia and Tennessee finished with a higher special teams DVOA in Week 1 than Pittsburgh, which ranked second in that metric last year, per ftnfantasy.com.

As for Seattle, it’s tough to gauge if Week 1 is representative of this team in 2025. The defense struggled – 23rd of 30th in success rate – but the offense ranked ninth of 30th in success rate.

At a 52% rushing success rate, only the Commanders, Dolphins and Cowboys outpaced Seattle, per rbsdm.com.

While Seattle’s spread has risen from market open, history suggests that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Since 2003, road dogs between +2 and +3 in games 2-7 are 39-14-4 ATS, assuming those dogs rose between +1 and +3.5 points from market open.

Just in games 2-4: 19-4-1 ATS.
