Ravens vs. Rams: NFL Week 6 Odds, Prediction

See the latest NFL Week 6 odds, picks and predictions for Ravens vs. Rams on October 12 at M&T Bank Stadium.
  • The Ravens are a 7-point home underdog against the Rams.
  • The Rams have won each of their last 13 Sunday games as favorites.
  • My Ravens vs Rams Prediction is the Rams Team Total Over 27.5 Points (-102).

After a bad home loss to the Texans, the Ravens stay at home to face the Rams.

Albeit largely because of injuries, Zach Orr’s defense surrendered 44 points to Houston. It marks the fourth time this year they’ve allowed at least 30 points.

The Rams lost in Week 5 as an 8.5-point home favorite to San Francisco. The loss dropped Los Angeles to 3-2, a game behind the 49ers for the NFC West lead.

Ravens vs. Rams Prediction

Based on the Ravens’ bad defense and the Rams’ quality offensive record against good defense, my Ravens vs Rams prediction is the Rams Over 27.5 Points (-102).

If Houston scored 44 on Baltimore, the Rams might get to 50 against this defense.

Before playing Baltimore, Houston ranked 22nd in offensive DVOA. Now, the Ravens take on a Rams unit that leads the league in that benchmark, per ftnfantasy.com.

Additionally, the Rams have achieved this feat against strong defenses. Entering Week 6, Los Angeles has played the sixth-hardest set of opposing defenses.

That likely explains why the Rams have scored 27.5 points or fewer only once this season. That success came in Week 2 against the Titans, who allowed 33 to the Rams.

Right now, Baltimore and Tennessee possess comparable defenses. The Titans rank 25th in defensive DVOA, one spot ahead of the Ravens.

Baltimore has held only one team under this benchmark all season. That came in Week 2 against the Browns, which sits 29 spots behind Los Angeles in offensive DVOA.

In their four other games – Buffalo, Kansas City, Detroit, Houston – the Ravens defense allowed no less than 37 points.

It’s also a problematic scheduling spot for the Ravens. The Rams enter Sunday’s game with a mini-bye after Thursday Night Football.

While staying at home likely mitigates it slightly, their injuries are simply too much to overcome right now.

As a result, I predict their defensive woes continue against one of the league’s best offenses.
