Ravens vs. Bengals: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction

  • The Ravens are a seven-point home favorite against the Bengals.
  • The Ravens have won 15 straight home games against AFC teams on a losing streak.
  • My Ravens vs Bengals prediction is to tease the Ravens from -7 to -1.

In what could prove to be Joe Burrow’s return, the Ravens will host the Bengals to close out Thanksgiving.

Baltimore eased to a 23-10 win over the Jets on Sunday. It marks the fifth straight win for Baltimore, which now sits atop the AFC North at 6-5.

Cincinnati fell 27-20 to the Patriots on Sunday, losing Tee Higgins in the process. It marks the fourth straight defeat for Cincinnati, which sits at 3-8 on the season.

Ravens vs. Bengals Prediction

Based on the Ravens’ red zone mismanagement on Sunday and the difficult schedule for the offense, my Ravens vs Bengals prediction is a Ravens Teaser Leg (-1).

Baltimore’s offense is undeniably weaker compared to last year. Some of that has to be attributed to playing the third-hardest set of defenses through 11 games.

Six NFL teams carry a 10% or higher defensive DVOA rating, per ftnfantasy.com. This marks only the second game for the Ravens against one of those teams.

Ironically, the first came on Sunday against the Jets. Baltimore managed only 23 points in that game, but the offense could have scored more.

The Ravens converted five red zone trips into only two touchdowns. All three of their field goals came from inside New York’s 20-yard line.

Now they get a Bengals defense that is one of the worst defenses ever. At 27.5% defensive DVOA, the Bengals are even worse than the Jets (13.8%).

They’re also 30th in rush defense DVOA, going up against a Ravens unit ranked eighth in the corresponding defensive category.

Baltimore has played two defenses ranked 27th or worse in that metric. They scored 30 against Chicago with Tyler Huntley and 40 at Buffalo with Lamar Jackson.

This season, Cincinnati is 0-5 SU when the opponent rushes for over 150 yards. In those two aforementioned games, Baltimore rushed for over 170 yards in both.

That leads me to tease the Ravens down as I worry about Cincinnati finding a backdoor cover. Last week, the Ravens secondary looked worrisome against Tyrod Taylor.

Yards per play finished 4.9 to 4.3 in New York’s favor. Additionally, Taylor completed 17 passes for 6.6 yards per attempt.

That said, I question how the Bengals offense keeps pace with the horrific defense.
