With the long-term fate of Tua Tagovailoa and other key Dolphins leaders unknown, the Miami front office elected to take a flyer on Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers at the end of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ewers was a decorated college player, leading the Longhorns to their first College Football Playoff. He took them back in 2024 after the field expanded to 12 teams.Â
Ewers’ professional prospects were a bit less certain. Fans will get their first look at him in Week 16 of the 2025 season, as Miami has announced it’s sitting Tua Tagovailoa for the remainder of the season. Player evaluation has begun.
Quinn Ewers Contract
After he was drafted with the No. 231 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Quinn Ewers signed a four-year contract worth $4,331,576.Â
Quinn Ewers Salary
Quinn Ewers will make $976,245 from his NFL contract in 2025.Â
That money breaks down into $840 in base salary – the NFL minimum salary for rookies – plus his signing bonus and a $4,669 workout bonus.
Quinn Ewers Guaranteed Money
The only guaranteed money in Ewers’ rookie contract was the $131,576 he received as a signing bonus.Â
Like most seventh-round picks, he can be easily cut at any time with virtually no financial impact on the cap sheet.
