Justin Herbert was drafted by the Chargers with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but two quarterbacks were still taken before him.

The first player off the board was LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. Tua Tagovailoa was drafted fifth by Miami, just before Herbert.

Burrow and Herbert found near-immediate success on their respective NFL teams and became natural foils for one another.

Chase Young, Jeff Okudah, and Andrew Thomas were the other three non-quarterbacks selected in the top six.

How Many QBs Were Drafted in 2020?

NFL teams selected 13 different quarterbacks throughout the seven rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. They ran the gamut from Heisman winner Joe Burrow at No. 1 overall to Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley at No. 244 overall.
