What’s the Record for the Most Receiving Yards In An NFL Season?

Calvin Johnson set the all-time record for single-season receiving yards when he recorded 1,964 yards with Matthew Stafford and the Lions in 2012.

No one has ever broken that record, though Cooper Kupp came awfully close in the Rams’ 2021 Super Bowl season. He finished the year with 1,947 receiving yards, coming up 17 short.

Amusingly, Kupp had the same quarterback throwing him the ball as Johnson did nearly a decade earlier.

The single-season NFL record for receiving yards is in the news yet again this year, thanks to Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

In his sophomore season, the 23-year-old is dominating NFL defenses with a huge target share. He crossed the 1,000-yard mark in Week 10 against the Cardinals and is on pace to challenge Johnson’s record.
