The NFL is a brutally competitive league. Last-place teams annually flip into playoff contenders. The whole system is set up to continuously challenge strong teams and drag everyone toward .500.

That’s why it’s always impressive to find coaches who can continually innovate and find new ways to win.

Five of the NFL’s current 32 head coaches have more than 150 career wins, making them the top crop of leading men. All five will be in the NFL Hall of Fame one day.

Active NFL Head Coach With Most Career Wins

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has 301 career wins (regular season + playoffs) as of Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season. That’s more than any other active head coach by a wide margin.

Reid, who turned 67 this year, is the beneficiary of a productive run in Philadelphia before coming to the Chiefs. Two other coaches aren’t ahead of him on the career wins chart, but they do have more wins with their current team.
