Matthew Stafford Playoff Record, Including Super Bowl Win

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, save for a lone Super Bowl run, has struggled in the postseason.

Stafford is 5-5 in 10 career postseason starts. Four of those five wins came in the 2021-22 season, which culminated in Stafford leading the Rams to a Super Bowl win. 

Outside of that run, Stafford is 1-5 in the postseason. The former first overall pick has appeared in six postseasons and exited after the first round four times. 

As the Detroit Lions quarterback, Stafford never played more than one postseason game in three separate playoff appearances. 

Last season, Stafford led the Rams to a wild-card win over Sam Darnold’s Vikings. Ultimately, Stafford’s Rams fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, the eventual Super Bowl winners. 

Both of his playoff losses with the Rams came by a single score.

Those 242 completions went for 2,996 yards, just shy of 300 yards per game. In six of his 10 postseason starts, Stafford threw for over 300 yards. 

His touchdown-to-interception ratio in the postseason is 19-6. Only twice in 10 postseason starts has Stafford failed to throw at least two touchdown passes. 

Despite Stafford’s high yardage average, his best playoff performances have come when his completion percentage rises. 

Stafford posted a 4-1 record when he finished north of a 67% completion percentage. Otherwise, he’s 1-4 SU with his lone win coming in the Super Bowl.
