Based on the Jaguars’ offensive record last season and the arrival of Coen, my Jaguars vs Panthers prediction is to target the Jaguars Over 24.5 Points (-115).Â
Despite operating without Trevor Lawrence for a few games, Jacksonville posted some strong offensive metrics.Â
The Jags ranked 17th in offensive DVOA last season, per ftnfantasy.com. Most impressively: that record came against the hardest set of opposing defenses.Â
Now the Jags swap in Coen, who transformed Tampa Bay’s offense last year.Â
Coen took the Bucs from 20th to seventh in offensive DVOA. He also took them from 28th to eighth in rush offense DVOA.Â
If Coen applies the same magic to Jacksonville, it should offer a chance to exploit Carolina’s defense.Â
Last year, the Panthers defense sat 32nd in defensive DVOA. That marked a seven-spot drop from the 2023 league year.Â
Injuries do explain that record a touch. Last year, only four teams lost more adjusted games to injury on defense than Carolina.Â
