During the 2025 season, the minimum salary for most NFL practice squad players is $13,000 per week.
Players who have accrued more than two seasons before their practice squad status earn additional pay benefits under the current NFL collective bargaining agreement. For these players, their minimum 2025 salary is $17,500 per week, and the maximum salary is $22,000 per week.
If a player with two seasons or fewer is on the practice squad for all 18 weeks, they would earn $234,000. That’s approximately 28% of the NFL league minimum salary for rookies, $840,000.
If a player with two prior seasons is on the practice squad for all 18 weeks, they would earn between $315,000 and $396,000. The veteran league minimum salary for 2025 starts at $960,000.
