How Many Points Will the Seahawks Score this Season?

Prediction: How Many Points Will the Seahawks Score? 

Based on Seattle’s weak offensive metrics and changes this offseason, I predict the Seahawks finish Under 389.5 Points (-115). 

Seattle finished 14 points beneath this benchmark in 2024. That ended a five-year streak for the team clearing 389.5 points. 

For bettors to think Seattle clears this number, one has to believe the offense improved. I carry the belief that it regressed. 

While Sam Darnold played well in Minnesota, a few changing factors lead me to question if that’s replicable in Seattle. 

First, he transitions to a team with a defensive-minded head coach from an offensive-minded one. 

Second, he goes to a team possessing a significantly worse offensive line. 

Last year, the Vikings finished 15th in run-block win rate and second in pass-block win rate, per ESPN. 

By the same metrics, Seattle ranked 28th and 21st. 

Additionally, Seattle produced many unlikely touchdowns last year. Seven of the team’s 43 touchdowns came from outside 50 yards. 

They also scored four touchdowns on defense. Only the Broncos scored more defensive touchdowns than Seattle. 

Plus, teams generally maintain the same offensive rating year over year, save for some radical changes. Last year, Seattle ranked 18th in offensive DVOA, per ftnfantasy.com. 

If the turnovers dry up and Darnold proves a downgrade from Smith, it should lead to Seattle finishing under this number for the second straight year.
