Giants vs. Chiefs: NFL Week 3 Odds, Prediction

See the latest NFL Week 3 odds, picks and predictions for Giants vs. Chiefs on September 21 at MetLife Stadium.
  • The Giants are a 6-point home underdog against the Chiefs.
  • The Chiefs have won each of their last 12 games following a home loss.
  • My Giants vs Chiefs prediction depends on Xavier Worthy’s status.

For Week 3’s Sunday Night Football matchup, the Chiefs travel to face the Giants.

Kansas City fell to 0-2 with a home loss against the Eagles. The loss dropped the Chiefs to +1400 in the Super Bowl odds as the team goes for a third title in four years.

New York fell in overtime against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. The loss dropped New York to 0-2 SU with a successful cover against the Cowboys.

Giants vs. Chiefs Prediction

Monday, September 15

I’m electing to wait on a Giants vs Chiefs prediction to see whether Xavier Worthy plays on Sunday for Kansas City.

At first glance, this line feels way too flattering for Kansas City. At the same time, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is the get-right spot for Kansas City off a home loss.

In his career, Patrick Mahomes has struggled to cover the spread as a big favorite. At -3.5 or higher, Mahomes is 36-46-3 ATS.

Just between -7 and -3.5, he improves to 20-20-1 ATS, including 7-5-1 ATS over the last two seasons.

That leads me to carry interest in the Chiefs, so long as the line stays under a touchdown.

However, I want Worthy to play in order to back the visitors. As bettors saw on Sunday, the path to attacking New York’s defense is through the air.

Without Worthy, I wonder if the Chiefs can exploit that advantage. That leads me to wait for additional information before making a final prediction for this game.
