Bowen joined the Giants following an extended spell working on the Titans’ defense. He joined Tennessee in 2018 and worked two roles over six years:
- 2018-20: Outside Linebackers Coach
- 2021-23: Defensive Coordinator
From a points allowed standpoint, Bowen led his best defense in 2021. That year, Tennessee ranked sixth in points allowed per game.Â
In the three years since: 14th, 16th and 20th, respectively.Â
Before Tennessee, Bowen spent two years with the Texans. From 2016-17, he worked as a defensive assistant under Bill O’Brien.Â
Prior to joining the NFL coaching ranks, Bowen amassed seven years of college experience.Â
He started as a student/grad assistant with Georgia Tech. He also spent 2012 as an Ohio State grad assistant.Â
Then, Bowen worked three seasons at Kennesaw State as linebackers coach before vaulting to the NFL.Â
