Eagles vs. Broncos: NFL Week 5 Odds, Prediction

See the latest NFL Week 5 odds, picks and predictions for Eagles vs. Broncos on October 5 at Lincoln Financial Field.
  • The Eagles are a 4-point home favorite against the Broncos.
  • The Eagles have won each of their last 13 home games.
  • My Eagles vs Broncos prediction is the Denver Broncos’ Team Total Under 19.5 Points (+100).

With a chance to move to 5-0, the Eagles host the Denver Broncos in Philadelphia.

The Eagles captured a third straight win and cover against Tampa Bay in Week 4. As 3.5-point road favorites, Philadelphia beat Tampa Bay 31-25.

Denver sits at 1-2 with an MNF matchup against the Bengals scheduled for Week 4. In Week 5, Bo Nix’s Broncos aim to end a 13-game home winning streak for the Eagles.

Eagles vs. Broncos Prediction

Monday, September 29

Based on the short rest spot for Denver and Philadelphia’s experience against quality offenses, my Eagles vs Broncos prediction is the Broncos Team Total Under 19.5 Points (+100)

Expect this number to post later in the week, around 20.5.

Philadelphia has allowed two straight opponents to clear this number. However, a reprieve comes for Vic Fangio’s unit in Week 5.

Through four games, the Eagles defense has played the hardest set of opposing offenses, per ftnfantasy.com. Three of four games came against teams seventh or better in offensive DVOA.

The Broncos, exclusive of Week 4, rank 18th in offensive DVOA. Only a spot separates the Broncos from Tampa Bay, but the Bucs have played a harder schedule.

That could create a buy-low spot on the Philadelphia defense.

Denver cleared 20.5 points only once in its first three games. That came indoors against a Colts defense five spots worse than Philly in defensive DVOA.

The Nix-led offense has struggled to consistently move the ball. In Weeks 1-3, Denver ranks 28th in offensive success rate.

The team improves to 20th in EPA per play, suggesting explosive plays are making the offense look better than it actually plays.

Fangio’s defense is built on making quarterbacks express patience. Right now, the current version of the Broncos offense isn’t built to achieve that feat.

Plus, the Broncos have to travel to Philadelphia on short rest following a home MNF game.

With extra time to prepare, Philadelphia likely begins the game with an inherent advantage. Given those factors, I predict bettors see a low-scoring effort from the Broncos.
