Daniel Jones started 69 games as quarterback of the New York Giants – an unusually high amount of starting experience in an age of quick replacements.

But in 2024, enough was enough. The storied franchise was tired of its unmoving fourth-place status in the NFC East, and Washington had found a clear franchise quarterback in rookie Jayden Daniels. It was time to move off Jones.

In 2025, the New York Giants’ odds market is still pretty rough, but you can’t lay that at the feet of Jones. He’s moved on to Indianapolis, where his experience, durability, and higher floor of play give him a strong chance to play games for the Colts ahead of the quarterback project that is Anthony Richardson.

Jones’ new contract is a modest one by quarterback standards. But hey – it beats getting a real job.

Daniel Jones Contract

Daniel Jones signed a one-year contract with the Colts worth $14 million.

Most of his contract – $13.15 million – is guaranteed. The remaining $850,000 is awarded in $50,000 increments for every game in which Jones is active.

Additionally, Jones’ contract includes a few performance incentives:

  • $100,000 for every regular-season win where Jones plays at least 50% of snaps
  • $250,000 for every playoff win where Jones plays at least 50% of snaps
  • A lump-sum bonus based on total season playing time that is delivered in the event the Colts make the playoffs. Jones can make a maximum of $1 million extra here if he plays at least 60% of snaps.

Daniel Jones Signing Bonus

Daniel Jones received a $6 million signing bonus after agreeing to his new contract with the Colts.

Daniel Jones Salary

Daniel Jones will make a minimum of $13.15 million from his NFL contract in 2025. That includes his $7.15 million base salary and his $6 million signing bonus.

If he starts and plays through every game, that number would rise to $14 million before any potential incentives kick in.
