Cowboys vs. Eagles Prediction: NFL Week 10 Odds, Betting Picks

  • The Cowboys are a 7.5-point home underdog against the Eagles.
  • The Eagles have won each of their last 10 road games following a home win.
  • My Cowboys vs. Eagles prediction is to use the Eagles in a teaser.

The Eagles will go for a fifth straight win on Sunday in Dallas against the Dak Prescott-less Cowboys.

Philadelphia captured a 28-23 win over Jacksonville in Week 9 to move to 6-2. Since the Eagles’ bye week, Nick Sirianni’s side is 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS.

Dallas’ struggles continued in Week 9. The Cowboys fell 27-21 in Atlanta, their third straight defeat. A defeat on Sunday would mark Dallas’ fourth straight at home.

NFL Week 10 Odds: Cowboys vs. Eagles

Cowboys vs. Eagles Prediction

Based on Philadelphia’s outstanding ground game and Dallas’ inability to stop the run, my Cowboys vs. Eagles prediction is to tease Philadelphia (-1).

There’s a simple handicap for this game: Dallas can’t beat teams with effective rushing attacks. Entering Week 10, Dallas sits 32nd in PFF’s rush defense grades.

The Eagles are one of 15 teams with a corresponding offensive grade of 80 or higher. This will mark Dallas’ sixth game of the season against such an opponent.

In the five previous contests, the Cowboys are 0-5 SU while allowing 35.2 points per game. Across all five games, the Cowboys have yet to keep one of those opponents under 27 points.

Philadelphia has played its fair share of games against bad rush defenses, too. In three such contests, the Eagles are 2-1 SU, but they didn’t have A.J. Brown for a loss at Tampa.

If the Eagles can run the ball into a leading game script, I question how Dallas’ passing game exploits a strong Philadelphia pass defense.

The Eagles rank third in PFF’s coverage grades and rank 13th and eighth, respectively, in dropback EPA per play and dropback success rate.

Even with Prescott, Dallas’ offense couldn’t accomplish much through the air.

Entering Week 10, the Cowboys rank 20th in PFF’s passing grades. Dallas also ranks 24th and 23rd, respectively, in dropback EPA per play and dropback success rate.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has also struggled to pick up wins as an underdog. McCarthy is 3-11 SU as a dog with the Cowboys, including 1-6 within the conference.

As a result, I’ll tease the Eagles down from -7 to -1. For a pairing, I’ll tease the San Francisco 49ers down from -6.5 to -0.5 against the Bucs.
