- The Commanders are a 6.5-point home underdog against the Broncos.
- The Broncos have won each of their last eight games.
- My Broncos vs Commanders prediction is for Washington (+6.5) to cover the spread.
Sunday’s NFL action closes from the nation’s capital with the Commanders hosting the Broncos.Â
Both teams enter SNF off a bye week heading in opposite directions. The Broncos have won eight in a row, including a 22-19 win over the Chiefs in their last action.Â
Washington has lost six in a row, including a 16-13 overtime loss against Miami in Spain. Dan Quinn’s team has closed a home dog twice in a row, losing by over 20 each time.Â

Commanders vs. Broncos Prediction
Based on Denver’s overperformance this season and a penchant for playing close games, my Commanders vs Broncos prediction is the Washington Commanders Spread (+6.5, -115).Â
This analysis is rather simple for me. For Denver to cover this number, one of two scenarios has to play out.Â
First, bettors have to believe the offense is as good as the following teams: Detroit, Seattle, and Kansas City.Â
Metrics suggest that’s not the case.Â
All three of those teams rank sixth or better in offensive DVOA, while Denver ranks 15th. That comes while playing the second-easiest defensive schedule, per ftnfantasy.com.Â
Alternatively, bettors have to believe the Commanders defense is as bad as Dallas and Cincinnati.Â
That could be true, but I predict Washington’s defense isn’t as bad as its record suggests.Â
The two aforementioned defenses sit 31st and 32nd in defensive DVOA. Both have played a top-10 easiest set of offenses.Â
Denver’s cumulative offensive success rate for the year is 41.5%. In two games against Cincinnati and Dallas, the success rate rises to 54.1%.Â
In all other games: 39.3%.Â
Washington ranks 30th in non-adjusted defensive DVOA. However, they’ve played the seventh-hardest set of opposing offenses.Â
Plus, Denver has yet to cover this number on the road. They’ve also claimed nine wins off 7.3 expected, with six of their last eight wins coming by four or fewer points.Â
Barring a complete stunner from this offense, Denver should struggle to create margin at Washington. Accordingly, I predict the Commanders will stay within this figure at home.Â
