See the latest NFL Week 5 odds, picks and predictions for Colts vs. Raiders on October 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
  • The Colts are a 7-point home favorite against the Raiders.
  • The Colts have won each of their last 10 games as favorites against AFC opponents.
  • My Colts vs Raiders prediction focuses on the Colts’ 1H Team Total Over 13.5 (-145).

After suffering its first loss of the season, the Colts return home to face the Raiders.

Indianapolis fell to 3-1 SU & ATS in a 27-20 loss to the Rams on Sunday. The loss featured a consequential fumble from Adonai Mitchell as he entered the endzone.

Las Vegas suffered a third straight defeat in Week 4. The Raiders lost 25-24 to the Bears as Daniel Carlsen saw his game-winning field goal bid blocked.

Colts vs. Raiders Prediction

Based on the Colts’ strong start to games and the Raiders’ weak passing defense, my Colts vs Raiders prediction is the Colts 1H Team Total Over 13.5 Points (-145).

On paper, the matchup gives Indianapolis’ offense an inherent advantage.

Indy leads the league in pass offense DVOA, albeit against a pretty easy set of defenses.

Regression is unlikely to occur this week, as the Colts face a Vegas team ranked 21st in the corresponding defensive category.

Week 4 marked the first time Indianapolis failed to clear 19.5 points in the first half. However, the Rams easily qualify as the toughest defensive test to date.

The Raiders have allowed three of four opponents to score 10 or more in the first half this season. Two of those opponents – Los Angeles (A) and Washington – notched over 16.5.

Week 5’s trip to Indianapolis easily qualifies as the toughest test for Pete Carroll’s defense.

The two aforementioned opponents sit 13th and 10th in offensive DVOA, without adjusting for opponent quality, per ftnfantasy.com.

Given those factors, I like the Colts offense to start fast against another bad defense on Sunday.
