Get two NFL player prop bets for Cowboys at Lions on Thursday Night Football based on NFL odds from BetMGM.
  • I predict Dak Prescott finishes over his longest completion prop (38.5 yards).
  • My anytime touchdown prediction for Lions vs Cowboys is CeeDee Lamb (+110).
  • Jahmyr Gibbs (-250) is predicted to score a touchdown against Dallas.

A pair of NFC heavyweights meet Thursday in Detroit for Lions vs Cowboys.

In addition to the pregame spread and total, bettors can now find NFL odds for player props at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Below, I’ve outlined a pair of player prop predictions for the contest. Odds are reflective at time of writing and are subject to movement.

Player Prop Picks for Thursday Night Football

Dak Prescott Longest Pass Completion Over 38.5 Yards (-110)

Detroit appears to enter Thursday’s game with no Terrion Arnold or Kerby Joseph. That is not ideal against a Cowboys aerial attack, amongst the best in the league.

Last week, Detroit surrendered a number of explosive passes to the Packers.

Jordan Love registered a longest completion of 51 yards to Christian Watson. Dontayvion Wicks added a 30-yard reception for good measure.

I’d argue the Cowboys receiver duo poses a bigger threat than Green Bay’s. Plus, Dak Prescott has excelled against man coverage, which Detroit runs at a top-10 frequency in the NFL.

Prescott leads the league in expected points added and passing yards against man coverage.

In terms of yards, the gap between Prescott and second-place Drake Maye is as big as the gap between Maye and 13th-placed Caleb Williams.

If there’s a slight concern, it’s that Prescott cleared this number twice in five games against top-10 man coverage teams.

However, his last outing saw him register a 74-yard completion against Washington. Pair that with Detroit’s secondary injuries, and I predict he clears this figure.

CeeDee Lamb Anytime Touchdown (+110) vs Cowboys

The fact that this market is available at sub-50% implied probability surprises me. After all, the total for the game is 54.5 points, suggesting points should flow.

Detroit ranks 27th in DVOA against WR1s, per ftnfantasy.com. Now they’re facing a Cowboys team that has racked up passing touchdowns this season.

Only Matthew Stafford has thrown more passing touchdowns than Prescott this year.

Lamb, despite missing time, has scored in two of his previous three and three of his last six.

That included a game against the Commanders. This season, Washington runs a similar coverage scheme to the Lions.

Both defenses rank 10th or higher in man coverage rate. Traditionally, Lamb has excelled against the coverage scheme.

Only four receivers outpace Lamb in yards against man coverage this year. That includes Cowboys teammate George Pickens.

Last season, Lamb amassed the second-most yards against man coverage. He added five touchdowns against that scheme.

Pair that with Detroit’s secondary injuries, and I predict Lamb scores for the second straight game.
