- I predict Emeka Egbuka finishes over 5.5 receptions (-105) at Los Angeles.
- My prediction for Matthew Stafford’s over/under passing yards prop.
- Kyren Williams (-155) is predicted to score a touchdown against Tampa Bay.
Los Angeles aims to extend its NFC West advantage in Rams vs Buccaneers on SNF.Â
In addition to the pregame spread and total, bettors can now find NFL odds for player props at the BetMGM online sportsbook.Â
Below, I’ve outlined a pair of player prop predictions for the contest. Odds are reflective at time of writing and are subject to movement.Â
Player Prop Picks for Sunday Night Football
Emeka Egbuka Over 5.5 Receptions (-105)
Egbuka has cleared this number only three times all year, and once in the last four.Â
However, the recent sample of games offers an encouraging sign. Egbuka, with Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving out, has dominated Tampa Bay’s target share.
Over his last four games, Egbuka has amassed at least nine targets in all four contests. On two of those occasions, he notched over 12 targets.Â
Now he gets a Rams pass defense that plays a hefty dose of zone coverage. This season, Egbuka has dominated that coverage scheme.Â
His 41 receptions and 649 yards lead all Tampa Bay receivers. Additionally, Baker Mayfield ranks fourth in EPA per dropback against zone (min. 10 games).Â
Last week, Los Angeles faced Jaxon Smith-Njigba, a comparable receiver to Egbuka in zone coverage outputs.Â
The defense allowed nine receptions on 12 targets for 105 yards.Â
Pair that performance with Egbuka’s record against the scheme, and I predict he clears this benchmark on Sunday.Â
Matthew Stafford Over 269.5 Passing Yards (-115)
How the Bills dominated the Buccaneers on Sunday shocked me. I went in expecting a strong showing from Buffalo’s rushing game…and it was Josh Allen who balled out instead.Â
Now, Jamel Dean is out for Tampa Bay against one of the best passing attacks in the league. Remember how I mentioned Mayfield excels against zone? So does Stafford, to a larger degree.Â
Only Patrick Mahomes owns a superior EPA per dropback against zone than Stafford (min. 10 starts). Stafford trails only Mahomes and Sam Darnold in DVOA against zone.Â
Stafford has cleared this number five times in 10 starts. Four of those five came against teams ranking 15th or higher in zone coverage rate.Â
Tampa Bay ranks 19th, but we saw Darnold produce an outstanding game against that defense. On the road, the Bucs allowed 341 yards and four touchdowns in Darnold’s best game.Â
Now they’re facing a Rams team with not one, but TWO receivers excelling against zone.Â
Entering Week 12, both Puka Nacua and Davante Adams rank amongst the 15 best receivers vs zone.Â
Last week, Allen threw for 317 yards against Tampa Bay. As much as I’d like to look for a sell-high spot, I predict Stafford replicates that success on SNF.Â
